Fall colors Oberg Mountain north shore Lake Superior

Fall colors on display in the Superior National Forest, observed from the top of Oberg Mountain near the north shore of Lake Superior in northeastern Minnesota. There is a loop trail that goes around this mountain, and is connected to the Superior Hiking Trail. At the top of the climb is a bench for you to rest or nurse if needed, but from there on out, it’s an easy 1.3-mile loop around the summit of Oberg Mountain. The trail features a series of eight overlooks, but it feels like you are seeing infinitely more as this hike provides almost constant breathtaking, sweeping views of one of the most scenic spots in the state of Minnesota. Highlights include Lake Superior, views across the rolling hills of Superior National Forest, and Oberg Lake nestled in the forest below you.
