Hollow Rock, North Shore of Lake Superior
Hollow Rock is a natural wonder that sits just off the shore of Lake Superior, just south of Grand Portage, Minnesota and about 10 miles south of the Canadian border. The arch was formed by centuries of the rock being eroded away by rolling and crashing waves hollowing out the center. I hope to get back to this magical wonder in February, when the sunrise lines up behind this little island, and if you stand in the right spot of the open area it glows a bright yellow color if the skies are clear.
